Pensions Specialist

£500 - £700 per annum



Our client is a global Investment Bank who are looking for a Pensions Specialist to join the HR function.


  • Working with the outsourced pensions administrator to ensure the smooth running of the scheme and all reporting, audit and data processes are met.
  • Responding to complex member queries the outsourced administrator is unable to address.
  • Acting as a point of coordination between the plan actuaries and plan consultants, ensuring they meet the Bank and Trustee requirements.
  • Managing liaison between the Pensions Administrator, HR and the plan Trustees around member queries and Trustee discretions.
  • Managing all pension invoicing for Trustee and Bank pensions vendors and working with finance and the consultants to monitor Trustee and bank spend.
  • Supporting pensions projects such as on-line pension statements production and the development of the on-line members retirement portal.
  • Co-ordination of Trustee meetings, including meeting scheduling, agenda collation and action management.
  • Supporting HR shared services and HR generalists on individual member and pension policy questions.

The role would suit an experienced pensions associate who has:-

  • At least 5 years of experience in either in-house or in a consultancy role.
  • Is PMI qualified or a qualified actuary
  • Has a good technical understanding of both defined benefits and defined contributions plans, and is familiar with current legislative changes
  • Experience of working with outsourced Pension Plan administrators and Trustees and their advisors; has supported Trustee boards.
  • Good communication skills; is able to communicate pensions simply to members and non-pensions specialists.
  • Is highly organised and numerate, and is used to working on multiple projects in a busy team.
  • Has good Microsoft Office skills including Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Experience of Ariba would be an advantage.

  • Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Electronic Trading
    £85000 - £130000 per annum + + benefits + bonus

    We are working with a tier 1 investment bank in London.

    They have an exciting opportunity for a Vice President to join their Equities Electronic Trading team.

    As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will be involved in monitoring and supporting Algorithmic, Smart Routing and Order Management systems.

    Role Responsibilities

    • Own the production environment
    • Serve as level one support on issues
    • Demonstrate plant health through plant monitoring, alerting provisioning and capacity management
    • Deploy applications to production
    • Automate repetitive maintenance and troubleshooting tasks
    • Communicate and document production changes, improve the change management process and tooling


    • Electronic Trading experience

    • Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / DevOps background


    • Working in equities cash markets and trading systems
    • Writing C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL
    • Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment technologies
    • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), e.g. Ansible
    • Scripting in Python, Bash or similar language

  • QA Tester(Manual & Automation)
    £40000 - £45000 per annum

    McGregor Boyall has an exciting opportunity for a QA tester to join a growing financial services organization in central London who are committed to using technology to offer bespoke trading services to a growing clientbase. The main responsibility of this role is to test releases and upgrades to the bespoke platform, Each release is different and will need to be functionally tested and Automated where relevant. This role is split between manual and automation testing.

    To be successful in this role you will ideally have most of the below:

    • Experience working on windows and unix platforms
    • Understanding of the full SDLC and able to identify when tests can be automated.
    • Scope and execute regression tests – manual and automation
    • Automation test experience, no particular tool but scripting using would be beneficial – python, JavaScript etc
    • Good solid understanding of SQL for writing queries
    • Strong communication skills as you’ll be liaising with other business units to define tests.

    In return you’ll be working in a cooperative environment with a small group of experienced QA’s. This role would at first be fully remote and moving to a Working from home/office based split when safe to do so.

  • eBusiness Tester

    Manual tester required for an exciting opportunity with a London based investment house. We are looking for a junior manual tester with testing experience of web-based user interfaces. Having experience in eFX or financial sector is an advantage.

    This is a hands-on role that will involve functional, regression, and integration testing of electron trading applications - Jetstream FX, Bloomberg, FXAll, and 360T. You will also have the opportunity to work on a range of FX products: Spot, Forward, Swap, NDF, and Options. This role could be suitable for someone with a BA/QA profile who is enthusiastic to learn, can pick up things quickly, has ‘can-do’ attitude, and enjoys working in fast-paced environment.

    You will have most of the following:

    • Creating test plan and writing test cases
    • Manual testing of web delivered user interfaces
    • Issue detection, documentation and managing
    • HP Quality Center (desirable), Jira (desirable)
    • Strong comms, you will be liaising with other teams across the business.

    This role is inside IR35 and looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
