JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Role: My Client is currently migrating our hosting environments from dedicated physical servers across to AWS utilising Infrastructure as Code and best practices. We are looking for an experienced Linux SysAdmin and Cloud engineer to join our agile development and devops team.

It is essential you have a good understanding and working knowledge of Terraform and Ansible. This position will be working in an environment where cross skilling is essential, and quality is the responsibility of everyone within the organisation.

ESSENTIAL:

- AWS

- Ansible

- Terraform



The role will include, but not limited to:
? Responsibility for the day to day running and upkeep of the environments.
? Providing the required infrastructure and access to the environments to the dev team and consumers of the software.
? Maintaining quality process documentation to an ISO27001 standard.
? Enforcing security standards within the business, including key and password policy, management and rotation.
? Server hardening procedures and OS / module patch, security best practices and encryption.
? Running regular internal penn tests and collaboration with external testing providers
? Monitoring of all services.
? Maintaining the Linux and Windows Operating Systems
? Ensuring backups, log rotation, retention policies are fully operational.

Skills and experience:

? Proven experience of implementing and maintaining stable and secure environments for SaaS / web application platforms on Cloud using Infrastructure as Code.
? Expert knowledge of Ansible, Git, Linux , Terraform, Bash enc.
? AWS experience with EC2, RDS, ELB, S3, EFS, Route53, Packer, VPC.
? Data security, encryption, standards and best practice. GDPR and ISO 27001 compliance.
? Experience with Docker, Swarm/Kubernetes or similar..
? Networking, Firewalls and VPN configuration.
? Ability to configure and manage monitoring tools, such as Nagios, Cloudwatch etc.
? Log management, rotation, scripting, analysis.
? Previous experience working in Lean/Agile Open Source software development teams.
? Good understanding of agile development processes, including CI, Git, GitLab, code quality and standards, QA and test automation.

    Implementation Project Manager (Software Applications / Data Migration)

    Market leading Investment Management client is looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Implementation / Project Manager with a track record of successful software and data migration projects (not infrastructure please). This role will be based in Edinburgh City Centre and will be offered on an initial 6 month basis, but with a view to extend.

    What does the role entail?

    • Working with project, tech and business leads to define implementation strategy.
    • Liaising with tech delivery, operations and test teams to ensure appropriate consideration of priorities and constraints.
    • Overseeing the process from migration to live operations.
    • Managing the creation, maintenance, configuration control and storage of the migration process.


    What experience will the ideal candidate have?

    • Experience of technical/operational implementation delivery and change management.
    • Management experience e.g. will have overseen large scale IT implementations.
    • Strong data migration experience
    • Experience of platform configuration and release management
    • Experience of working with 3rd party providers

    I am ideally looking for candidates who are able to start immediately although 4 week's notice will be considered. The role will pay up to £550 per day for the correct candidate.

    I am currently looking for an Automation Test Lead (Java/ C#) to join a top FinTech organisation based in London/ Surrey. The role will be a permanent role and will be working on a new project within the business.
