£600 - £700 per day



An opportunity has arisen for a Production Engineer to work for a Banking client in London. This is a contract position.

Job Description

The Production Engineer will be part of a multi-disciplined team defining and building data solutions.

The Production Engineer will work closely with a wide variety of teams to:

  • Install and configure DataHub platform across multiple non-production and production environments
  • Maintain and upgrade the DataHub platform
  • Monitor and support multiple DataHub platform instances
  • Automate BAU tasks to improve efficiency
  • Troubleshoot any production issues
  • Make sure the DataHub platforms are up and running and meet SLAs
  • Manage releases, upgrades, and patching of the platform

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of Unix systems (Redhat, Ubuntu), MSSQL
  • Hands on experience with Big Data Technologies
  • Strong working knowing on Directory services:
  • LDAP
  • AD
  • Centrify / Kerberos
  • Experience on:-
  • Ansible
  • Artifactory
  • BitBucket/Git
  • Docker
  • Experience in installation, configuration, documentation, and administration of multiple pre-production and production platforms in both virtual and physical environments
  • Hands on experience in infrastructure design, including load balancing (F5), reverse proxy (Apache), application hosting (Tomcat)
  • Great understanding of ETL process
  • Unix scripting
  • Experience in scheduling tools such as AutoSys
  • Server and application monitoring
  • BigData Skills:
  • Strong background on mapR Ecosystem is mandatory, or a strong working knowledge of either Hortonworks or Cloudera
  • Exposure to ab initio
  • Exposure to Informatica
  • Exposure to Elasticsearch/Splunk
  • Exposure to OPenTSDB / Grafana / Kafka.

    Tier 1 Investment banks seeks experienced software developer to join their risk team on a contract bases.

    The successful candidate will have excellent technical and analytical skills and a strong interest in derivatives pricing and risk management.

    Projects typically involve adding support for new derivatives instruments and pricing methodologies, working with quants and desk strategists, as well as with colleagues in New York, Hong Kong and Budapest.

    The role will offer a good opportunity for those looking to make a difference to a major business division.

    This system provides real time risk and P&L data across the firm's equity derivatives franchise. It supports the full range of equity products from vanilla options through to exotics and swaps. In addition to equities, the platform also supports additional asset classes such as FX, rates and credit.

    Required Skills:

    Excellent Java skills with experience in distributed, multi-threaded environments. Strong knowledge of TDD and experience of SDLC tools such as Jira and Crucible. Experience working in derivatives risk, preferably equities. Strong analytical, algorithmic and problem solving skills.

    Good communication skills and team working ability.

    The successful candidtae will look to revieve anything between £650 - £800 per day
