Production Services Analyst – London – 12 Month FTC


A Global Investment firm operating in 25 countries are looking for a Production Services Analyst to join their team in London on a 12-month FTC. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide application support to wide range of investment management business applications; primarily responsible for supporting critical trading applications and their integration with upstream and downstream systems
  • Manage support transition for new applications and functional changes from delivery teams.
  • Contribution in enhancements for existing product as individual contributor
  • Work closely with the project manager and to understand & report back regular status of assigned tasks
  • Strict compliance to support processes; adherence to FIL company level policies
  • Perform regular knowledge sharing through documentation and training sessions to other members
  • Will be expected to work on-call rotation and work in shifts (early morning, late evening and/or weekends)
  • Experience in working for validating and performing DR transitions


Experience and Qualifications:

  • 2 - 6 years or above of relevant industry experience in developing or supporting IT applications
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in a production services role
  • Financial domain (investment banking / wealth management) working experience
  • Experience of ITIL service delivery, preferably with a formal ITIL qualification


Essential Skills:

  • Oracle databases; well versed with database SQL queries and should be able to write medium to complex SQL queries
  • Unix platforms
  • Unix shell scripting
  • C# and Java/J2EE applications
  • Enterprise messaging products (preferably MQ Series)


Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of Charles River overnight batch process or other overnight OMS batch support would be desirable
  • Experience and well versed with batch scheduling tools – Control-M, Autosys etc
  • Experience of FIX protocol and ability to understand FIX messages for electronic trading
  • Experience in configuring and administering order management systems; Charles River IMS v9 preferred
  • Knowledge of trading investment management process, financial instruments and how they are traded
  • Experience supporting order management systems, electronic trading, and matching venues
  • Exposure to DevOps and Agile delivery processes
  • Experience in automating real time application monitoring (ideally using ITRS Geneos)
  • Good understanding of release and deployment management process
  • Experience in the production failover and disaster recovery
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skill
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including interaction with business users and senior technology stakeholders

    The role

    As a remote DevOps Engineer, you will join the Azure Technology team of a multi-cloud services company. You will help provide consultative, architectural, program and engineering support for our customers' journeys to the cloud.

    You will deliver technical solutions using cutting edge technologies and industry best practices to implement Azure cloud platforms for its customers.

    The responsibilities

    • Demonstrate a broad set of technical skills including Azure Infrastructure and administration (ARM templates).
    • Enable the rest of the technical team to adopt a DevOps culture by helping them to onboard best practices into their work-streams.
    • Work with the Architects to tackle a backlog for growing the DevOps practices of release management, infrastructure automation, build automation, version control.

    Essential experience

    • DevOps Engineer experience (or something similar)

    • Experience working in a Microsoft Azure cloud environment

    • Scripting ability (ideally PowerShell)

    • Orchestration experience (Kubernetes)

    Desirable experience

    • Microsoft Azure certifications

    The Opportunity

    • This role is responsible for delivering all aspects of financial advice across functions to ensure the provision of comprehensive support to all levels of management and Members.     • Support the timely preparation of complex business cases outlining associated costs, benefits, risks and funding solutions whilst being solely accountable for the financial implications.
    • Lead financial impact assessments relating to changes in legislation, service initiatives or formal partnership arrangements.
    • Be a sector leader for finance, networked with best in class peers and embed new skills & learning to drive performance improvements.
    • Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.

    The Experience You Will Bring

    • Full CCAB / CIMA qualification with minimum of 2 years post qualification experience and evidence of continuing professional development .
    • Experience in application of financial management and financial frameworks in a large organisation, preferably public sector, through a full financial cycle.
    • Essential evidence of providing financial advice to inform complex decision making.
    • Evidence of direct influence in improving financial systems and processes.
    • Experience of evaluating and supporting innovative and effective means of financing the long term delivery of large scale services.
    • Demonstrate significant experience of working with and influencing members and / or executives, as well as, multi-disciplinary teams to achieve service outcomes.
    • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
    • Extensive experience of strong leadership skills and ability to demonstrate credibility, promoting good financial management practice within the business.
