Python Software Developer – Investment Banking - £80k

Our client is a Tier 1 investment bank in London offering an excellent opportunity for bright Python Software Developers to break into the exciting world of Investment Banking.

This position would allow the successful Python developer to work very closely with Traders, Sales, Quants and some of the most elite Software Developers in the country, in a fast paced and challenging environment.

You would be working using the latest Python technologies, as well as having a scope to learn new languages and tech such as Kotlin, Machine Learning and Big Data. You will be given the opportunity and responsibility from an early stage to work on innovative, cutting-edge Greenfield projects.

The successful Python developer can expect a base salary between £40k - £80k, plus a healthy bonus and exceptional benefits.

Skills Required

  • Outstanding education from a top University, in a relevant study (i.e. Computer Science, Maths, Physics etc)
  • Experience in OO programming, ideally Python – but other languages also welcomed (Java, C , C#, Scala etc)
  • Mathematically capable and excellent at problem solving
  • Ability to work in a team as well as individually
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    I am currently looking for a Test Analyst (Regulatory Reporting) to join a top investment bank based in London. The role will be a contract position working on a new project within the organisation.

    Desired Skills:

    Excellent test analysis skills (Ideally - ISEB Software Tester or equivalent)

    Experience with the Linux, SQL & DB2

    Familiar with Backend Testing Solutions using Python / Perl / JS / Java / Saturn

    Exposure to BDD (JBehave / Cucumber/ Fitness / Concordion) - Concordion & Saturn are currently in use in this area

    Contract

    £500- £550 per day

    6 months with scope to extend

  • Entity Control Accountant - Practice Background Required
    £50000 - £60000 per annum

    My client, a large Financial Services company, is looking to hire a Legal Entity Controller to join their Central Finance team. The role will include in depth review / analysis of statements from the company's various entities, as well as the resolution of technical issues on an ad hoc basis.

    Applicants must be from a practice background and must be qualified accountants. Would suit a recently qualified accountant looking for the next step into industry with a reputable FS institution.

    Key Duties

    • Monthly / Quarterly reporting on respective entities
    • Production of statutory accounts for entities liaison with auditors
    • Assist in management of FX Exposure with regards to entities
    • Review Intercompany allocations, recharges and transfer pricing processes
    • Accurate daily cash break review
    • Ensure strong control environment is maintained
    • Ensure preparation of, and review, all consolidations. Escalate to management where necessary
    • Assist in the liquidation of unnecessary entities
    • Skills / Competencies required:

    Qualifications / Skills

    • A background in a top 10 accounting firm
    • Relevant Accounting qualification
    • Strong technical accounting skills understanding of statutory accounting
    • Strong academics
    • Strong eye for process improvement
    • Strong IFRS / UK GAAP knowledge
    • Excellent written / verbal skills

    The role:

    The Data Scientist will build the next generation of data science applications & tools. You will be working with data applications, leveraging the latest analytics techniques, technology, innovation and development methodologies.

    Key Skills

    • Have hands on experience working with big data platforms and associated products (not just a theoretical understanding) such as hive, impala, oozie, Spark, neo4j etc
    • Have a strong programming with big data foundation– including Python, Scala, Java or C , R and SQL
    • Have hands on experience in data analysis and science, with a good understanding of data-mining, machine-learning and other data science techniques and applications, including prediction, optimisation, classification, anomaly detection and text analytics
