QA Lead (Global e-Trading) – London – Hybrid


A Major Financial Services provider is looking for a Global QA e-Trading Lead to join their team in London. Not only is this an exciting opportunity to join a well-established team, working just 1-2 days from in the office, but you will also get exposure to the latest tools and technology.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct a team of professionals across multiple teams supporting the EMEA region.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact to achieve the objectives of the function.
  • Be able to apply an in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions.
  • Accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships across regional and global teams both internal and external to the testing organisation.
  • Manage communication within the business, quant, compliance, internal audit, production support, BA/PM, and application development partners.
  • Manage the Independent Testing Team across regional testing resources.
  • Deal with complex and variable issues for substantial potential impacts.
  • Ensures Quality Control plans are met for the business strategy and goals.
  • Drives innovative quality strategies that support technological change.
  • Analyse trends at an organisational level to improve processes.
  • Develops and implements methods for cost, effort, and milestones of IT Quality activities.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of how IT Quality integrates within overall technology and has commercial awareness.
  • Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes decisions on pay increases, promotions, and terminations.
  • Be able to uses evaluative judgment in complicated or novel situations using multiple sources of information.
  • Impacts of IT Quality through planning, finances/budget, end results and setting policies.
  • Excellent communication skills to negotiate with others at a senior level and may be required to communicate with external parties.
  • Manage a team that will handle Defect Management, conduct sanity checks, defect QC and documentation.


Desirable:

  • 17+ years’ experience in an IT Quality role with experience in people management.
  • Working knowledge in Low Touch Trading, Algo Trading, Smart Order Routing (SOR), Market Connectivity.
  • Strong Knowledge of Testing Lifecycle and methodologies.
  • Proven influencing and relationship management skills.
  • Proactive leadership and motivational skills.
  • Excellent team player, ability to work with global teams and in a time sensitive environment.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s University degree, Master’s degree preferred.

    A Global Financial Services provider working at the heart of the world’s financial, energy and commodities markets covering FX, Rates, Credit, Equities and Energy & Commodities are looking for a Senior Platform Services Analyst to join their team in London.
    Clients include banks, insurance companies, pension and hedge funds, asset managers, energy producers and refiners, as well as risk and compliance managers and charities.


    Responsibilities:

    • Working within a shift rota to provide support coverage from 7am – 6pm
    • Contribute towards ‘follow the sun’ support model, working closely with global teams in APAC and US to ensure pre-market health checks are performed for each region
    • Perform regional start of day health checks to ensure all members are connected to the platform
    • Utilising proprietary tools, provide daily application support and troubleshooting for platform members and internal users, escalating to Development teams appropriately
    • Daily interaction with all internal stakeholders with regards to support issues
    • Efficiently create and track issues within an incident-management system to help identify trends and patterns
    • Create and monitor internal reports and usage queries
    • Assist with product testing and project work


    Skills:

    • At least 3 years hands-on support experience within a financial institution (buy-side, sell-side, venue/platform provider)
    • Proven experience of MSSQL, Oracle and Sybase database environments, including complex query-writing
    • Solid application support experience within a Unix / Linux environment
    • Good working knowledge of the FIX protocol
    • Proven experience of supporting Windows Server environments

    • Good understanding of international Equity market mechanics and flows


    Desirable:

    Clients include banks, insurance companies, pension and hedge funds, asset managers, energy producers and refiners, as well as risk and compliance managers and charities.


    Responsibilities:

    • Utilising proprietary tools, provide daily application support and troubleshooting for platform members and internal trade desks, escalating to development teams appropriately
    • Fulfilling client customisation requests within algorithmic trading systems and MTF platform
    • Troubleshooting and analysis of order routing and trade flow and post-trade issues
    • Managing team chats, queues, and mailboxes to ensure requests are being actioned in a timely manner with appropriate prioritization
    • Ensuring incident and problem management procedures are followed and performing analysis to determine trends and patterns
    • Assist with product testing and project work
