McGregor Boyall are currently hiring for a Senior Manager / Director to head up our new Birmingham office from the new year. The successful candidate will manage 2 experienced Consultants immediately, with a view to growing out the team and client base. You will take full P&L responsibility and ownership of this office and accountability for the success of the team. You will also be responsible for managing your business area, as this is this is a hands-on billing and Managing position with both personal and team based targets. We are looking for someone to develop and win new business as well as managing our existing clients across the Midlands, to build and grow our client base.

This office will focus on Core Tech into the Commerce & Industry and Financial Services markets. The successful person will be very involved from the outset in making key decisions such as office location, website and branding. This is a great chance to Direct and Manage a business with the support of an established brand and strong shared services function. You will be supported by a Marketing, HR and back office team to assist with contactor onboarding, branding and any HR related issues.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with our existing client base to develop these accounts
  • Manage, coach and develop team members
  • Build out the office to increase the team size and take accountability for the teams success
  • Manage your own desk, ideally bringing in new contacts and growing our client base
  • A key focus on Business Development to win new accounts
  • Working closely with our Marketing team to help build our brand in Birmingham
  • Working closely with the Talent Team in order to support on your hiring needs
  • New Starter training and coaching, team appraisals and regular one to one meetings

Key experience / skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Tech Recruitment (ideally experience of both contract and perm)
  • A good understanding of the Birmigham and Tech markets
  • Evidence of successful BD strategy
  • Good relationship building skills
  • Experience of managing and developing a small team
  • A creative approach with the ability to think out of the box
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with external and internal stakeholders

    Our client (Financial Services) is seeking a Business Partner for their Group IT & Technology department.

    The role will provide support to business unit heads, and will contribute to a number of key processes (Budgeting, Business Case Analysis, Monthly Finance MI etc.)

    Candidates must have strong Finance Business Partnering / Management Accounting experience, and must have partnered with an IT / Technology department. Banking experience is highly preferable.

    Key Duties

    • Providing analytical support to new business initiatives. Assessing and contributing to business cases for tactical and strategic investments in any Function and monitoring progress and benefits realisation.
    • Providing analytical support for new (or renewed) contracts with major suppliers of any Function
