Our client is looking for a Risk & Assurance Manager to join a small team on a fixed term basis initially on a fixed term basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide risk information to the Head of Risk, ExCo, Audit Committee and the Board to enable effective decision making by contributing to new risk policy development; providing professional advice, drafting submissions and briefing on strategic risks
  • Provide assurance on the effective management of risk information
  • Implement improvements to raise risk management capability
  • Manage discrete aspects of corporate policy and practice i.e. MI packs, risk process, capability plans and suite of documents that make up the risk framework

Required knowledge & experience

  • Background in risk, assurance, project management, or senior decision-making functions.
  • Knowledge of risk management and internal control principles with proven ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Delivery focussed, strong IT skills, excellent communication skills and the confidence and ability to engage with and, where appropriate, challenge senior management.
  • Well-developed planning and analytical skills linked to strong interpersonal, negotiating skills.
  • Support Head of Risk and Senior Assurance manager to embed risk and assurance framework
  • Raising risk management and control capability, promoting standards and tools
  • Commercial acumen- identify and estimate risks to company, based on external factors that can affect its performance
  • implement risk management concepts and best practice e.g. Orange Book Corporate Governance Code
