The candidate will play a technical leadership role in the International Markets Data and Operational Controls Team with the responsibility of multiple scrum teams who develop software solutions for international privacy, analytics and data governance use cases. The candidate will be responsible for driving the adoption of software engineering best practices and innovative product introduction as well as implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Through a hands-on approach, lead the teams to conduct software engineering, code reviews and deliver innovative software tools, technologies, and application frameworks. Maintain deep levels of involvement in the implementation process.
  • Business oriented and able to communicate at all levels
  • Ensure adherence to existing architectural direction and architectural strategies and provide input and guidance to future strategy and direction.



Technical Requirements

  • At least 6+ years of big data experience with different languages - Strong programming skills - C++, Java, Python, Scala along with ability to pick up new languages - Past demonstrable programming work - Exposure to big data methods - Hadoop, Hive, Spark, MapReduce
  • At Least 6+ year of experience with traditional data technologies e.g. Structured Databases and Data Warehouses
  • Understanding of cloud-based system, distributed systems
  • Strong expertise with Git.
  • Experience of deploying and managing large-scale, cloud-based solutions.
  • Knowledge of graph- or stream-based analytics, or deploying machine-learning analysis.
  • Confident in a DevOps environment, engineering products to be both reliable and adaptable.

  • Proven track record of success in challenging the status quo, implementing new ideas and designs.
  • Ability to estimate financial impact of design/architecture alternatives.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Success in working with cross-cultural, global teams

    Our client, a large holding company are looking to recruit a Head of Statutory Reporting to join their team.


    Responsible for management of the entire groups statutory reporting framework this individual will play a key role in the consolidation at a group level. The job holder will oversee all financial accounting related activities and candidates must be comfortable with reporting at a Board level.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for Statutory reporting and consolidation of all assets owned by the organization.
    • Manage auditors - internal and external
    • Oversee the management of accounting activities, ensuring that all payments, contracts, accruals and related transactions are treated in an appropriate manner according to internal and statutory controls, as well as appropriate international standards.
    • Oversee the preparation of financial management and performance reports, ensuring that reports are developed in a readable and understandable format.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum requirement of 15 years of experience.
    • CFA, CPA, SOCPA, ACA, CIMA or ACCA certified
    • Regional experience is essential for this role and candidates will only be considered if they are based locally
    • Strong understanding of financial and accounting practices, issues, policies and procedures
    • Well experience in the technical finance function – not commercial
    • A strong numbers person and equally hands-on

    Java FX Algo Trading Developer – Fintech – Remote – up to £140k

    A successful and expanding multi-national fintech require a strong Java engineer to help build out their low latency FX Algo Trading application suite. The team focus on providing the platform for their ever-growing London client base, which spans from small funds through to tier one Investment Banks, meaning that this role brings exposure to a wide range of sectors, with which brings a diverse range of challenges.

    The Java Developer will be expected to take ownership of the full software development lifecycle of the FX Algo Trading product, applying a creative mindset in the process and driving to use cutting edge technology and ideas.

    The successful Java Developer can receive between £70k and £140k base salary, plus a healthy benefits package.
