Data & Analytics Development Manager
McGregor Boyall has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Development Manager with experience in leading Data & Analytics development teams to join an innovative, global entertainment business who put technology at the forefront of their business strategy and embark on cutting edge projects from their flagship office in Livingston.
You will manage both a local team as well as off-shore teams within Data Engineering, working with technologies including SQL, data warehousing, ETL tools (AbInitio, Informatica) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will define the development approach for all on-going and future projects, identifying and documenting risks and mitigating against these where possible.
You will also monitor quality of output of your team and identify areas for training and support where needed, providing regular feedback and appraisals.
Experience Required:

  • 3+ years’ experience of managing both local and off-shore Data & Analytics development teams
  • Stakeholder management
  • Understanding of Data Warehousing principles, using SQL
  • ETL Tools – AbInitio and/or Informatica preferred
  • Knowledge of best practices across the full software development lifecycle
  • Managing teams across multiple, concurrent projects
  • Implementing innovative solutions in a complex environment
  • Defining and implementing Waterfall, Agile and hybrid development approaches
  • Cloud experience would be beneficial, ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
