Java Technical Lead - VP
McGregor Boyall has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Java Technical Lead to join a growing financial services organization at the forefront of technology innovation on a permanent basis. This institution is renowned worldwide and known in the market for their extremely high caliber of technical teams.
You will be brought in to lead a new team in Glasgow with a small team of three initially but with scope to grow exponentially. You will lead the strategical direction of your team and the solution you are building and will remain hands-on, spending around 50% of your time developing the solution.
You will also be the Functional Lead for the solution and will be the key contact for internal stakeholders including the end-user who you will be gathering requirements from and translating these into technical designs for you and your time to develop and implement.
The team will be Agile with bi-weekly sprints and is very focused on Behaviour Driven Development using tools such as Jira and Cucumber. The technical stack is also currently in the process of being updated to incorporate cutting edge technologies like Scala, Spark and Kafka.
Experience Required:

  • 5+ years of commercial Core Java Development experience
  • 2+ years of technical leadership experience
  • Solution design and stakeholder management experience
