Security Analyst- Windows, DLP, Firewalls, Vulnerability Scanning, SIEM, Network Monitoring, Anti-Virus, IDS/IPS, Encryption- Permanent- Manchester

A highly regarded professional services client based in Manchester are looking for a Security Analyst to join the business as they develop their technical team, bringing in specific skills to enhance the quality of the team. As a Security Analyst, you will take ownership and responsibility for a range of different tasks in the information security and cyber security domain, including maintain the existing security and protection landscape, as well as implementing new technologies and handling security breaches.


  • Possessing an IT Security, Information Security or Cyber Security qualification(s) such as CompTIA Security , CCSP, CISSP, or similar
  • At least 3 years experience working in a Security Analyst role or similar position, with an understanding of a broad range of security tools
  • Abilities providing infrastructure support for core tasks including network security, patching, routing and switching, back up and storage, and server support
  • Experience working with DLP tools such as Symantec, McAfee, or similar
  • Strong skills deploying and maintaining firewall solutions using products such as CISCO ASAs, FirePower, Juniper, Checkpoint, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar alternatives
  • Understanding of and experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Qualys, Nessus, Wireshark, Nexpose or similar
  • Experience working with SIEM tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, ArcSight, LogRhythm, Tripwire, AlienVault or similar
  • Exposure to other security tools for ant-malware and anti-virus protection such as Symantec, Bitdefender, McAfee, Avast, Sophos, Kaspersky or similar
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems with Shell scripting skills
  • Knowledge of encryptions tool such as USB Crypt, AxCrypt or FileVault is preferred, but not essential


  • Work with senior stakeholders in the information security domain to ensure security compliance with internal standards and policies, and external regulations
  • Carry out vulnerability scans and identify weaknesses in the technical landscape
  • Keep the technical information security and cyber security environment up to date with the latest software releases and updates
  • Manage any security risks to systems, applications, and network solutions, ensuring that routine checks are scheduled
  • Report any security incidents and how they have been managed
  • Install and maintain firewall solutions
  • Schedule routine back up and storage protocols
  • Ensure that all machines are patched into the network correctly

    The role:

    • Maintain responsibility for the design, development, unit, and integration testing of all new and existing code

  • IT Business Analyst - Lloyds Markets - SQL (contract)
    £475 - £535 per day

    A leading Lloyds of London Syndicate based in the City of London seeks Technical Business Analyst on a contract basis. You will be working on a number of projects around product build and system configuration.

    Therefore it is essential that all applicants have a technical business analysis background working for an insurance company - ideally Lloyds of London experience. You will also have a strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and database tools including SQL.

    As this is an IT Business Analyst position you will be expected to perform the following duties on a day to day basis –

    • Write specifications

    • Conduct gap analysis

    • Requirements gathering

    You will also be liaising with a number of key stakeholders and separate business functions within the organisation, this is where your insurance (or Lloyds Markets) and SDLC knowledge will be utilised.

  • Python/Java Machine Learning/AI Developer - Finance - £55k-£85k
    £55000 - £85000 per annum bonus

    Python/Java Machine Learning/AI Developer - London based Brokerage - up to £85k

    Python/Java Developer required to work on the next generation of artificial intelligence(AI)/machine learning technology at a leading financial services brokerage in London. The team operate like a fintech within the organisation, focussing on creating cutting edge technical solutions within a collaborative and innovative environment, much of the work is greenfield.

    As a Python/Java Developer within this team you will also have extensive exposure to; Cloud AWS, javascript with react and openfin applications. This is an expanding team with a lot of investment being invested into their development with the AI/machine learning space too. The role will also give a strong Python/Java technologist exposure to the financial services market and provide an understanding of how large transactions are carried out and processed.

    The successful Python/Java Developer can look to receive between £55,000 and £85,000 base, plus a healthy package and bonus.


    • Commercial Python or Java development experience
    • Experience with Cloud platforms, ideally AWS
    • Experience of working on the full software development lifecycle
    • Ideally experience or an interest in AI/Machine Learning
    • Financial Services experience desirable, but not essential
    • Strong academic profile (Computer Science preferred)
