Senior HR Policy Manager

£80000 - £90000 per annum



We have a great opportunity for an experienced HR Policy Manager to join a key player in the financial services industry. The role is responsible for the direction, development and implementation of employment policies across all business areas to ensure strategic and cultural fit for the organisation, as well as compliance with employment legislation & regulatory requirements and broad alignment to market practice.

The role will lead the HR Policy Team and will report into the Head of Industrial Relations & HR Policy.

This is an exciting time to join the organisation with a wide range of business change and market conditions to navigate and build direction and development of HR Policy. Solid experience as a HR Policy Manager in a global, matrix and regulated environment with significant Unions experience will be required.

Key focus areas:

  • Together with ER, Policy & Change Director, determine People Policy priorities and activities.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the HR Policy Team.
  • Develop and maintain ER owned HR People Policies and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor employment law and case law developments.
  • Lead union consultation on the introduction of new and revised policies, maintaining excellent relationships between recognised Trade Unions and the Policy Team, and responding to People Policy feedback and issues.
  • Review People Policies regularly to determine opportunities.
  • Project manage the harmonisation and alignment of employment policies to achieve a consistent set of People Policies replacing heritage arrangements.
  • Ensure new and revised policies are effectively communicated to the business and ensure content on the HR Portal promotes HR policies and supports colleague interaction with policy information.

This role will require:

  • Significant experience of employment policy development, preferably with experience of running a policy function in a large organisation
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders, combined with the ability and credibility to influence
  • Significant experience of consultation with recognised Trade Unions, with well-honed negotiation skills
  • Strong people management skills, gained through managing and developing teams
  • Experience of managing large projects/programmes
  • Excellent written communication skills including presentations, briefs and reports for senior stakeholders
  • Ability to plan, organise and multi-task to deliver a high workload in a pacey environment

  • Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Electronic Trading
    £85000 - £130000 per annum + + benefits + bonus

    We are working with a tier 1 investment bank in London.

    They have an exciting opportunity for a Vice President to join their Equities Electronic Trading team.

    As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will be involved in monitoring and supporting Algorithmic, Smart Routing and Order Management systems.

    Role Responsibilities

    • Own the production environment
    • Serve as level one support on issues
    • Demonstrate plant health through plant monitoring, alerting provisioning and capacity management
    • Deploy applications to production
    • Automate repetitive maintenance and troubleshooting tasks
    • Communicate and document production changes, improve the change management process and tooling


    • Electronic Trading experience

    • Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / DevOps background


    • Working in equities cash markets and trading systems
    • Writing C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL
    • Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment technologies
    • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), e.g. Ansible
    • Scripting in Python, Bash or similar language

  • QA Tester(Manual & Automation)
    £40000 - £45000 per annum

    McGregor Boyall has an exciting opportunity for a QA tester to join a growing financial services organization in central London who are committed to using technology to offer bespoke trading services to a growing clientbase. The main responsibility of this role is to test releases and upgrades to the bespoke platform, Each release is different and will need to be functionally tested and Automated where relevant. This role is split between manual and automation testing.

    To be successful in this role you will ideally have most of the below:

    • Experience working on windows and unix platforms
    • Understanding of the full SDLC and able to identify when tests can be automated.
    • Scope and execute regression tests – manual and automation
    • Automation test experience, no particular tool but scripting using would be beneficial – python, JavaScript etc
    • Good solid understanding of SQL for writing queries
    • Strong communication skills as you’ll be liaising with other business units to define tests.

    In return you’ll be working in a cooperative environment with a small group of experienced QA’s. This role would at first be fully remote and moving to a Working from home/office based split when safe to do so.

  • eBusiness Tester

    Manual tester required for an exciting opportunity with a London based investment house. We are looking for a junior manual tester with testing experience of web-based user interfaces. Having experience in eFX or financial sector is an advantage.

    This is a hands-on role that will involve functional, regression, and integration testing of electron trading applications - Jetstream FX, Bloomberg, FXAll, and 360T. You will also have the opportunity to work on a range of FX products: Spot, Forward, Swap, NDF, and Options. This role could be suitable for someone with a BA/QA profile who is enthusiastic to learn, can pick up things quickly, has ‘can-do’ attitude, and enjoys working in fast-paced environment.

    You will have most of the following:

    • Creating test plan and writing test cases
    • Manual testing of web delivered user interfaces
    • Issue detection, documentation and managing
    • HP Quality Center (desirable), Jira (desirable)
    • Strong comms, you will be liaising with other teams across the business.

    This role is inside IR35 and looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
