McGregor Boyall are currently recruiting for a Senior Software Delivery Lead for our clients’ Change and Technology team based in the outskirts of Glasgow.

Reporting to the Head of Software Development, the Senior Software Delivery Lead will ensure that their software delivery teams are set up to guarantee the earliest possible delivery of solutions which provide the desired outcomes as defined by the CTO.

You will be responsible for the people and processes involved in the delivery of software components of the Change & Technology portfolio.

You will lead, support, mentor and coach our clients’ team of Delivery Leads.

Your responsibilities will include but won’t be limited to:-

  • Overseeing the process of scoping, developing and launching new software product ideas, utilising customer insight and research to develop customer-focused solutions to real problems.
  • Ensuring the software product delivered by their Software Development team provides the metrics and measures the Product Owners and Managers require to learn and capitalise on their investment, each step of the way.
  • Supporting Product Owner and Managers in oversight of software-related third-party supplier relationships, ensuring quality service and value for money is being delivered at all times
  • Supporting the senior stakeholders in any technical discussions relevant to products or planning involving third parties (including partnership deals and/or other strategic relationships) where there is a software delivery component, to ensure transparency of progress and process.
  • Leading the software delivery leads working across our product development teams
  • Coaching and developing the software development team in a way that enhances those skills already evident, enabling them to deliver quality software applications with proven customer and business value in the most effective way.

To be considered for this role you will have skills/ experience in the following:-

  • Well-versed and experienced in leading agile teams
  • Experience of delivering software products using techniques including, but not limited to, Scrum and Kanban
  • Excellent at coaching and mentoring across the entire development team skillset
  • Proven skillset in the successful delivery of customer-facing software applications
  • An effective communicator in both technical and business domains
  • Strong stakeholder management skills - Experience of managing internal and external stakeholders, including third party suppliers
  • Enabling of iterative and incremental software development in Lean and Agile environments
  • Demonstrable commercial experience with a track record of delivering software developments with annual budgets of £500k and above
  • Practical experience of structured prioritisation techniques such as MOSCOW, Cost of Delay

  • Project Manager - Digital Delivery
    £575 - £600 per day

    McGregor Boyall are currently recruiting a contract Project Manager for our financial services client based in Edinburgh.

    This is initially a 6 month contract and is inside IR35.

    You will be accountable for tracking and communicating progress of Digital Development deliveries; providing timely and accurate reporting of delivery resources, activities, and risk, informing decision-making to meet departmental commitments.

    As a key member of the Digital Development team, you will work closely with various stakeholders including delivery squads, architects and and managers of dependent projects.

    Must have experince in delivering projects in the web, apps and digital delivery space.

    Key Responsibilities will include (not limited to):

    • Engaging with delivery squad Scrum Masters to track team backlog items and map these to product and technical roadmaps..
    • Acting as a central liaison for deliveries to dependent projects, providing summarised milestone updates and managing change requests.
    • Tracking resource requirements, allocation, and utilisation as part of wider departmental budget management activities.
    • Identifying moments for organisational learning and ensure that improvements are identified, communicated, and implemented effectively.
    • Following project governance standards and recommending appropriate changes to controls in support of successful delivery.

    In terms of skills and experience, we would love you to have some of the following:

    • Experience with a range of software delivery paradigms including (Agile methodologies and ceremony, DevOps patterns and practises, principles of product delivery queues and flow)
    • Working knowledge of web-based work management platforms (ideally Azure DevOps)
    • Confident and competent user of Microsoft productivity tooling (Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
    • Familiar with software delivery concepts (Cloud architectures and environments, front-end and back-end services, quality assurance in a continuous integration and deployment context)
    • Good experience in managing the delivery of complex software solutions (ideally within a financial services environment)
    • Proven ability to establish strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
    • Strong and effcetive communicator able to effectively liaise with both technical and non-technical personnel.
    • Excellent verbal and written skills

    This role offers hybrid working with visits to the Edinburgh office a couple of times a month.

    Applicants are required to be authorised to work in the UK and be available to travel to the Edinburgh office when required.
