Senior Software Developer

£64000 - £65000 per annum

McGregor Boyall are delighted to be representing a well-established organisation within their field, who have recently created a unique technology arm to their company.

Based a 10-minute walk from Brent Cross station (Hendon) the company has the feel of a tech start up, but has the security and financial backing of a larger, more established organisation.

As the brand and technology starts to grow brand awareness within its field so does their needs for innovative and outgoing professionals who want to be part of an organisation who have a determination to be market leaders in what they do.

This role acts as deputy to the Systems Architect and as such carries responsibility for standing in

with regards to infrastructure and technical issues in times of leave, sickness etc.


There would also be potential for homeworking one day a week after 12 week probation is completed

Key Responsibilities

Systems Development

  • Develop the organisations application set based on supplied system requirements and

specifications.

  • Use PHP/PHP-OOP and MySQL with PHP frameworks (especially Symfony v1.4/Doctrine v1.2) as specified by the agreed architecture.
  • Use front/back end web application technologies Angular, Vue.js, Node/Express JS and NoSQL (MongoDB) as specified by the agreed architecture and technical stack to develop new applications.
  • Use PHP, HTML, CSS & Javascript frameworks when required to develop and maintain existing applications.
  • Manage source code using the specified management tools (Git).
  • System test and work with QA Test and Business Analysts to quality check developed

applications.

  • Use Jira to manage work as part of a Scrum methodology.

    Java Low Latency Trading Engineer – Buy Side – up to £140k + bonus

    A leading and expanding London based buy side trading organisation are looking to add a strong Java Low Latency engineer to their industry leading workforce. Working directly for the desk you will be responsible for both the development of greenfield components and enhancement of existing multi-threaded low latency trading applications.

A well established financial services company based in the City of London is looking for an IT Project Manager.

You will work on the delivery of multiple software development projects within an Agile environment.

All applicants must have prior Financial Services experience. You must also have experience of delivering SDLC projects in an Agile environment.

On a day to day basis you will be involved in -

  • Implement defined projects as agreed with the IT Programme Manager and CTO
  • Ensure technical projects are appropriately scoped and estimated
  • Work with the engineering teams to ensure that outputs are delivered on time and within budget
  • Agree milestones and collect data on project progress
