Solution architect
One of the UK’s leading and most respected financial institutions has an exciting perm opportunity for a seasoned solution architect to take on a significant role within their Payments team. These roles can be delivered on a hybrid basis with one or two days a week spent in the state of the art campus in Glasgow for creative collaboration.
The VP level solution architect will have the opportunity to create technology solutions whilst challenging business requirements and demands to ensure high quality candidate solutions are created and actively contributing to broader architectural governance activities.
We’re keen to find practical, hands-on architects who still enjoy solving enterprise wide problems as well as have the capability to providing coaching and mentoring and some informal task based supervision of less experienced professionals.
The following is required for the role:
- Excellent knowledge of integration and implementation issues and their architectural implications, and of best practice architectural and design methods
- Ability to confidently describe existing technology infrastructure across all major functions/ departments and a comprehensive grasp of emerging technologies
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of IT Security patterns, considerations, best practice (e.g. OWasp)
- Direct experience of Software delivery and deployment patterns (e.g. Continuous Delivery, Continuous Integration, etc.)

The Opportunity

- Accountable for all financial aspects of medium term business planning, advising Directors, Politicians and Stakeholders on strategic financial performance management, pricing and investment analysis
- Lead on the provision of insightful long term predictive analytics, optimising financial modelling and commercial acumen to support business development and income improvements across the organisation.
- Drive the delivery of complex cross organisation projects, influencing strategies to ensure commercial considerations drive transparent and robust, evidence-based decision making. This includes the provision of detailed analysis and interpretation of financial and performance data.
- Work collaboratively with other business partners and management accountants in the development and review of financial policy and 3-year business plans ensuring they reflect strategic objectives and promote continuous improvement

- Evidence of direct influence in improving financial systems and processes.
