Solutions Architect- Microservices, Code Refactoring, Azure, .NET, C#, CI, TDD/DDD, SQL, NoSQL, JavaScript, MVC- Permanent- Birmingham

I am working with a leading digital business, who are changing their market with a new approach to virtual operations, and have an opening for a Solutions Architect to join the business due to continued growth and success. This is a great role for candidates with existing experience in Solutions Architect positions, who may be looking to move into a fast paced and forward-thinking technology environment.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Educated to Bachelor’s Degree level a relevant discipline such as Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or similar, or equivalent professional qualifications
  • At minimum of 3 years experience in a Solutions Architect role, with demonstrable experience of working in an Agile environment
  • Strong skills in code refactoring tasks and programmes
  • Expertise in software design patterns including MVC and MVVM
  • Solid understanding of microservice architecture, ideally with previous experience designing new solutions and coordinating the migration from legacy environments and platforms
  • Technical background using .NET and C#
  • Understanding of SQL servers and NoSQL databases
  • Previous experience with continuous integration technology such as TeamCity
  • Understanding of JavaScript frameworks such as Knockout, Angular and/or Backbone
  • Exposure to test frameworks such as Jasmine
  • Abilities to understand and design scalable solutions across cloud environments and web applications


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Take a leading role in shaping technical architecture in the business, championing changes and best practices to support the organization
  • Provide subject matter expertise across the Solutions Architect domain
  • Liaise with developers to drive activity across detailed projects
  • Develop strong relationships with colleagues across the IT function, to collaborate on ideas for new technological development
  • Make suggestions for new technologies and processes which could be introduced to the business, to support the drive for continued growth and development
  • Assess the actual state of the environment against the planned state, and develop the road map
  • Make sure all code is written in the best interest of the business, and engage in refactoring activities to ensure the architecture estate is at the highest level of quality
  • Use automation tools and feedback measures to allow a culture of continuous improvement to foster, moving towards an environment of innovation
  • Drive the move towards a microservice platform and cloud based solutions, including Azure

  • C# Developer
    Up to £650 per day

    The Role

    The candidate will be responsible development of new features and maintenance for our server side pricing, aggregation, control and contributions platforms using a variety of programming languages and development environments. In particular, the candidate will be developing predominantly in C and C# with some Java as well.

    The successful candidate must be able to operate at a high level and produce results with a quick turn around on key deliverables.

    Required Skills

    My leading banking organisation is looking to bring on a Project Manager to join a centralised business change function.

    Candidates must have:

    • Extensive project management experience within banking.
    • Previous experience on delivering lending based projects are highly desirable.
    • Proven ability to manage and deliver projects within a business change environment.
    • End to end project life-cycle management.
    • Business and / or IT change management experience.
    • Senior stakeholder management experience.
