Job purpose

  • Responsible for developing and supporting the finance systems to ensure the effective and efficient processing of financial and non-financial data and to extend the range of management tools and reports used to inform the business of the Group’s financial performance.
  • Perform a key role within change projects that impact finance and how these impact specifically our financial systems
  • Provide expert knowledge of finance and accounting principles to change programmes ensuring the solution is fit for purpose


Essential functions

  • Lead contact for stakeholders both in finance and the wider business
  • Provide ongoing support and training on any of the finance systems
  • Build, maintain and manage the day to day relationship with the organisations, finance system cloud provider
  • In conjunction with stakeholders, assess the financial information needs and determine best approaches to address those needs through development of finance systems and reporting
  • Manage and deliver continuous improvement on processes within the finance function
  • Share and champion best business practice and use of the financial systems


Operational

  • Responsible for ensuring the integrity of all of the finance system
    • Ensuring completeness of data across all systems
    • Owning data governance across all off the systems
  • Manage and own finance system permissions in line with delegated authorities and approval limits and ensuring segregation of duties
  • Develop, test, document and embed processes and procedures
  • Work with stakeholders to design and build internal finance and external business reports to better support and inform the business
  • Work to eliminate all finance offline processes and ‘work arounds’
  • Work to install a robust control structure around finance data and finance systems
  • Plan, manage and run system upgrades and UAT testing
  • Lead user workshops to generate improvements and efficiencies
  • Analyse changes or transformations impacting the financial systems, provide advice on suitability
  • Establish new processes and help identify and output issues or errors


Essential Skills

  • Qualified accountant
  • Previous system accounting experience essential
  • SQL
  • VBA /Excel /Macros
  • Access DB Management skills
  • SAP knowledge preferred
  • WAX Web3 and Infor DEPM knowledge advantageous


Skills and Abilities

  • Qualified accountant (ACA , ACCA, CIMA)
  • Highly numeric with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Able to meet deadlines with a strong attention to detail
  • Good team player with a collaborative style
  • Good knowledge of controls and processes,
  • Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles
  • Previous experience as a systems accountant or business analyst focusing on financial systems
  • Finance systems change delivery experience

    • Strong communication skills
    • Equities business knowledge highly desirable, other asset classes may be sufficient
    • Strong academic profile (ideally computer science or maths)
    • Both creativity and the ability to work within fast paced environments

    You will bring an innovative approach to software development, focusing on using the latest technologies and practices, as part of a relentless focus on business value.

    Our client, an investment banking group is seeking an experienced ACBS Developer to join the team based in the London.

    Main duties and purpose of the role:

    • Working on complex projects and possess good knowledge on object-oriented programming concepts.
    • Work closely with the BA to satisfy project and/or business requests working towards appropriate effective solutions.
    • To gain product knowledge of current systems and functional processes/configuration to analyse, document, recommend, simplify and implement changes for continued efficiency, effectiveness in the performance of system.
