Systems Analyst – Edinburgh – Financial Services – Investment Management – Permanent

Role: Systems Analyst
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: Negotiable

My highly respected Investment Management client urgently requires a permanent systems analyst to join their existing IT Department.

Role Responsiblities:

  • Carry out investigation, analysis and documentation of all or part of a technical solution in relation to the requirements of a business process, the information and systems they use.
  • Collation of technical requirements and solution design for improving any aspect of technical processes and systems. This includes the creation of functional and technical specifications in preparation for the selection and implementation of information systems, and extensive system testing thereof.
  • To provide guidance to IT and business staff as required relating to systems areas of expertise.



The successful candidate will have experience of the following:

  • Information Gathering Techniques
  • Analysis Techniques
  • SQL Querying (of MS SQL Databases)
  • Software Development Life Cycle
  • Project Management Methodology (Waterfall/Agile)



The following skills would be desirable but not essential:

  • Ability to logically understand the following technologies in order to specify functional/technical requirements:
    • Markit EDM (CADIS)
    • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
    • VB.NET
  • Thinkfolio – Front /Back End Experience



Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree or post-graduate level, preferably with a focus on an IT related discipline, science, maths or economics.
Has experience undertaking systems analyst activities within an investment management organisation.
