Your opportunity
Our client is currently seeking talented Consultants for roles in the Private Client tax team in Cardiff and Bristol, specifically to work with entrepreneurs, family business owners and high net wealth families. You will have the opportunity to develop your experience and knowledge advising our existing client base but also to help grow our business in the market.
Our clients Private Client tax team are recognised as a market leader in this area and their team is multi-disciplinary, focussed on proactively delivering the very best advice to our clients, with whom we seek to build deep and lasting relationships.

Your role
Your role will be diverse and stimulating, working with some of the most dynamic and exciting clients across all aspects of personal tax.
Building strong client relationships is at the core of our business and by benefiting from early client exposure and learning from the top practitioners in the field, you will be involved in client meetings and encouraged to contribute or take a prominent role where appropriate.
We take development very seriously and as well as the opportunity to work on a range of diverse and interesting clients with direct interaction with senior members of the team, you will also receive continuous on the job training. Our appraisal process is structured, transparent and interactive, ensuring you receive ongoing supportive feedback to help you achieve your goals.

Responsibilities include:
• Managing a portfolio of high net wealth clients and dealing with all aspects of their tax affairs.
• Management of tax compliance services provided to our clients through our Compliance Centre of Excellence
• Reporting to senior members of the team, including regular interaction with the director/partner group and managing and helping to develop more junior members of the team
• Taking responsibility for client relationships and liaising directly with clients and third parties
• Managing diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution

Your professional experience

To qualify for the respective roles you must have:

Technical skills
• Good understanding of relevant tax legislation, being qualified ACA/CTA or equivalent qualification or experience
• Experience of working with Trustees on their tax position is desirable but not essential
• Highly numerate with keen attention to detail
• Strong communication skills - both written and oral

Practical skills
• Ability to plan and prioritise workload, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
• Strong client engagement experience
• Able to take ownership and use initiative to resolve problems
• Ability to exercise appropriate level of judgement
• Drive and spirit to succeed and exceed our clients’ expectations and a positive approach to personal development

Communication skills
• Strong business acumen and commercial awareness
• Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment rapidly and to respond to clients appropriately in this context

Management skills
• Good team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
• Experience of delegation and interest and skills to develop more junior members of the team

  • Desktop Publishing Specialist

    MG037 – Desktop Publishing Specialist
    Evening shift (5.15pm-1.15am)
    6-month contract with opportunity to go permanent)

    Our client is a leading international investment bank based in Marylebone. They need a new Desktop Publishing Specialist to support across their Corporate Finance and European teams to produce high quality presentations and materials for their clients.

    You will take full responsibility for updating the content and presentations using a range of templates in PowerPoint, Word and Excel. You would have worked in an investment bank previously with strengths in design, formatting and proof reading with basic knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Professional. It would also be beneficial if you were fluent in an additional European language (French, Italian, German and Spanish) although this isn’t crucial to be successful in the role.

  • Standard Chartered - Java Developer - Risk - Contract

    Key Roles & Responsibilities

    • Experienced developers with previous experience in the end-to-end design, development and support of risk management systems

    • Ability to work and liaise directly with the Front Office, Middle Office, Product Control and various risk functions

    • Familiarity and confidence working in an agile development environment

    • Data and compute grid experience a plus

    • Functional programming experience a plus

    • Responsible for the full development lifecycle for implementing the Bank’s risk management system.

    • Interact with the business users to gather the requirements

    • Design smart and scalable solutions following the bank standards

    • Write efficient, clean code and be able to articulate what has been implemented and explain as to why.

    Qualification & Skills

    Technical skills:

    • 8 years hands on development with investment banking IT experience
    • Java (essential), SCALA/Haskell is an advantage
    • Oracle development background, RAC is a plus.
    • Development experience on functional language, such as Haskell, is a strong plus.
    • SCRUM and Agile.


    • Strong architectural and engineering background with experience of delivery.
    • Strong Java and Oracle skills.
    • Strong knowledge and previous experience in end-to-end design, development and subsequent support of large scale data processing systems built on Oracle.
    • Familiarity and confidence working in an “agile” development environment.
    • Who can drive / facilitate the requirements and development effort with the business.

  • GDPR Compliance Delivery Manager
    £52000 - £53000 per annum

    Our client, a national savings bank, is looking for a GDPR Compliance Delivery Manager to join their organisation. It is a 6-month fixed term contract based in London. They are able to offer £52,000 per annum pro rata for the 6 months.

    The role is responsible for overseeing and managing all data controller responsibilities surrounding GDPR, ensuring all compliance and mitigating risk by ensuring they are uncovered by the risk policy owners. You will be working closely with the organisation B2B Compliance Manager to ensure any GDPR work is compliant with rules set by the organisation and other laws.


    • Collaborating and coordination with the DPO and B2B Compliance Manager to create and maintain a new data protection strategy and legal framework This will be achieved by working with Clients to determine arrangements to ensure all procedures and provisions meet compliance standards.
    • Provide a monthly report to the DPO outlining any issues regarding GDPR compliance across the business
    • Act as business Manager whilst implementing the joint data controller requirements that fall within GDPR
    • Oversee documentation surrounding GDPR including the drafting of any technical clauses such as Data Sharing Agreements. Maintain and amend manuals and staff training to ensure it is up to date with data protection laws.

    Experience and Qualifications

    • Data Protection qualified and proven extensive working experience within data protection
    • Extensive knowledge of legal and regulatory matters
    • Experience with analysis of documentation and data including, creating policies and procedures by reviewing analysing and translating analysing legislation, and industry consultation papers.
    • Strong privacy law knowledge and implementation of data protection/information rights within a financial services organisation.
    • A good understanding of joint data controller responsibilities following strict data protections rules
    • General law knowledge and working experience
    • Any financial services and ICA advanced qualifications are desired but not necessary
