McGregor Boyall are currently recruiting for Technical Analysts.

These are contract positions that will initially run for 6 months.


The posts sit within Security Operations which is responsible for protecting the company against many forms of Cyber attacks and data loss.


Given the recent changes enabling our client to deliver on their objective in being a digital bank, it is an exciting time to join them.

The Technical Analyst will responsible for supporting the groups Security Operations Incident response function. This function directly manages Cyber Incidents, Data Loss, retrieval and preservation of data in response to data subject access requests, security incidents, the discovery phase of litigations and supporting the activities of the Security Operations and the wider company.
Your role will be responsible for but not limited to:

-Managing the Data Loss Prevention tools and operations queues
-Developing and managing the operations KI's / MI to support oversight
-Managing any escalations for Cyber Incidents
-Assisting with Identity Access and Governance tasks to ensure we operate a zero trust model
-Assisting with Audit activities and attestation cycles

The role will require the following skill set and experience:

-Data loss awareness and mitigating controls
-Awareness of Cyber Security and willing to develop this knowledge
-Good problem and analytical skills to investigate complex issues
-Demonstrable expertise in using Microsoft Office applications
-Strong team worker but having the ability to be self-directed on task completion
-Knowledge or understanding of Data loss, eDiscovery, Forensics and Cyber Incidents
-Understand and managing risk for Security Operations
-Ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility for deliverables
-A passion to develop Cyber Skills to help protect the bank
-Ability to prioritise multiple activities in a rapidly changing environment
-Experience of developing or enhancing procedural documentation

    Senior Platform Services Analyst – London – Hybrid


    A Global Financial Services provider working at the heart of the world’s financial, energy and commodities markets covering FX, Rates, Credit, Equities and Energy & Commodities are looking for a Senior Platform Services Analyst to join their team in London.
    Clients include banks, insurance companies, pension and hedge funds, asset managers, energy producers and refiners, as well as risk and compliance managers and charities.


    Responsibilities:

    • Working within a shift rota to provide support coverage from 7am – 6pm
    • Contribute towards ‘follow the sun’ support model, working closely with global teams in APAC and US to ensure pre-market health checks are performed for each region
    • Perform regional start of day health checks to ensure all members are connected to the platform
    • Utilising proprietary tools, provide daily application support and troubleshooting for platform members and internal users, escalating to Development teams appropriately
    • Daily interaction with all internal stakeholders with regards to support issues
    • Efficiently create and track issues within an incident-management system to help identify trends and patterns
    • Create and monitor internal reports and usage queries
    • Assist with product testing and project work


    Skills:

    • At least 3 years hands-on support experience within a financial institution (buy-side, sell-side, venue/platform provider)
    • Proven experience of MSSQL, Oracle and Sybase database environments, including complex query-writing
    • Solid application support experience within a Unix / Linux environment
    • Good working knowledge of the FIX protocol
    • Proven experience of supporting Windows Server environments
    • Experience in troubleshooting network problems: i.e. firewall and routing problems
    • Good understanding of international Equity market mechanics and flows


    Desirable:

    • Exposure to supporting message-based architecture
    • Working knowledge of at least one buy-side or sell-side Order Management System
    • Good understanding of Fixed Income market mechanics and flows
    • Experience with industry-standard monitoring tools (ITRS or similar)

    Clients include banks, insurance companies, pension and hedge funds, asset managers, energy producers and refiners, as well as risk and compliance managers and charities.


    Responsibilities:

    • Utilising proprietary tools, provide daily application support and troubleshooting for platform members and internal trade desks, escalating to development teams appropriately
    • Fulfilling client customisation requests within algorithmic trading systems and MTF platform
    • Troubleshooting and analysis of order routing and trade flow and post-trade issues
    • Managing team chats, queues, and mailboxes to ensure requests are being actioned in a timely manner with appropriate prioritization
    • Ensuring incident and problem management procedures are followed and performing analysis to determine trends and patterns
    • Assist with product testing and project work
    • Working within a shift rota to provide support coverage from 7am – 6pm
    • Contribute towards ‘follow the sun’ support model, working closely with global teams in APAC and US to ensure pre-market health checks are performed for each region

    Skills:

    • At least 5 years hands-on support experience of an algorithmic trading platform within a financial Institution

    • Experience managing a small support team, preferably within the front office
    • Excellent working knowledge of the FIX protocol
    • Solid application support experience within a Linux environment
    • Good understanding of European Equity market structure, mechanics, and flows
