Technical Big Data Architect

£100000 - £120000 per annum Benefits



An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Architect to work for an investment bank in London.

This is a permanent position.

The Role:

  • Defining the architectures of technical solutions and leading technology teams to design, build, test and deliver high-quality software solutions to meet business needs
  • Responsibility for determining the systems, subsystems and interfaces within the products as well as evaluating and validating technology to be used as part of the solution
  • Working closely with the product stakeholders to balance their requirements and define a solution
  • Working very closely with the engineers to ensure that technology solutions align to the vision
  • Leading and guiding designers and developers in the application of architecture best practice within their solution implementation

Key Skills:

  • Experience in IT delivery and architecture, application design and programming in a large enterprise working on mission-critical IT systems.
  • Strong experience around Hadoop and Big data technologies including Spark, Hive, Scala etc.
  • Experience working in Agile teams (e.g. Scrum)
  • Good hand on experience with JAVA
  • Experience in Spring Boot, Micro Services Architecture, REST, Kubernetes / Docker (Red Hat OpenShift preferably), Hadoop (Cloudera preferably), Oracle RDBMS is highly desirable.
  • Experience in building enterprise data platforms including data cataloging and data quality tooling and enterprise data lakes highly desirable.
  • Experience around AWS / Azue would be a nice to have

  • IT Business Analyst - Bracknell (permanent)

    An exciting opportunity has arisen at a software company based in Bracknell. They are looking for an IT Business Analyst to help with a number of projects that will improve systems and processes for their rapidly growing business.

    Therefore it is essential that all applicants have prior IT Business Analysis experience working on software projects, ideally within an Agile environment.

    As these are Business Analyst positions you will be expected to perform the following duties on a day to day basis –

    • Write specifications

    • Conduct gap analysis

    • Requirements gathering

    You will also be liaising with a number of key stakeholders and separate business functions within the organisation, this is where your Software and Agile knowledge will be utilised.

    The role
    As an Azure Cloud Engineer you will be joining a small team who have in-depth knowledge of Azure Cloud and understand how security is managed within the Cloud. You will ideally have experience using DevOps Pipelines.
