Working closely with, currently two, other team members controlling Loans Administration, Trade Finance and Banking Services, the TOO will be required to interact with Loans, Trade Finance and Banking Services as required.


Extensive skills and experience in Banking Operations with specialist knowledge of Treasury products is required together with a willingness to ‘get back to basics’ to cover all aspects of the job in a new and growing bank set up.


It is envisaged that the department will grow around the current core heads of section, providing the successful incumbent with future progression into management.

Requirements.

  • On a daily basis, to work as part of the Operations team processing and verifying transactions in the branch Core Banking and ‘Summit’ Treasury systems and SWIFT for all Investment and Treasury business.
  • A good knowledge of and experience of MIFID 2 reporting.
  • Must have a sound knowledge of processing Treasury products; MM, Forex, Swaps, CD’s, Bonds, FRA’s and Derivative products.
  • Will act as the focal point for Position Keeping and Reconciliation controller for Operations, compiling and submitting all currency positions and Nostro reconciled balances to the FMD in a timely manner throughout the business day, on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for the safe custody storage of all Treasury related documentation held in the branch.
  • To perform any other duties as directed by the Head of Operations or Senior Management.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate for this role will have the following exposure:

  • Experience and a sound track record in banking industry, with emphasis on processing Treasury and Money Market products and Derivatives.
  • Ability to work confidently on their own initiative or with the team. Must be a team player, and willing to ‘get involved,’ with a hands on approach to help with the jobs at hand, as needed within the small team.
  • Have sufficient confidence and expertise to act as checker, authoriser of the work of others
  • Be able to work closely with other teams within the branch and Head Office.
  • Intermediate to advanced excel user and competent skills in other MS office applications
  • Strong keyboard skills essential
  • Ability to speak Mandarin is a plus but not a must have.

Management Reporting

  • Creating / improving processes for collecting MI, in conjunction with the development of new reporting tools & systems
  • Owning developing the client’s costing tool & training colleagues on how to use it
  • Liaise with Finance Business Partners on cost issues advise them on related queries
  • Take a lead role in the completion of the finance pack every month
  • Complete budgeting tasks alongside Finance Business Partners
  • Modelling via Excel for 5-year operating plan
  • Prepare executive committee packs

Process Improvement

  • Drive creation of improved finance tools / processes
  • UA Testing for updated reporting models (kpi’s, budgeting, forecasting etc.)
  • Develop a standardized Management Information template for use throughout the client’s business, ensuring consistency of cost / balance sheet reporting

Required Skills

  • FP&A Experience within a customer facing Financial Services institution
  • Strong SQL / SAS skills
  • Part Qualification in Accounting

Insurance Technician

£40000 - £50000 per annum

A role within the support team of a global reinsurance firm. This position will take repsonsibility for servicing Broker / Cedant accounts, ensuring accounts are booked and paid in a timely manner.

Other duties will include analytical work, as well as more ad hoc tasks.

Job Description:

  • Processing & validation of complex Assumed and Ceded Treaties and Facultative covers, checking Profit Commissions, Sliding Scales etc ensuring accuracy and continuity with cedant accounting
  • Calculation and analysis of quarterly premium accruals / earned premium, assisting in quarterly management reporting and attendance at actuarial review meetings
  • Production of monthly Terms of Trade and Premium Adjustment reports and monitoring responses
  • Reconciliation of assumed/ceded reinsurance ledgers
  • Raising and processing of payments/receipts onto internal systems
  • Investigating and resolving internal and external accounting and audit
  • Monitor cash/unapplied cash, outstanding accounts and conduct effective credit control activities in maintaining unsettled balances
  • Communicating effectively with all departments, branches and stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with brokers, cedant’s and reinsurers to ensure business continuity
  • Various ad-hoc projects as required

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Good A Level grades, particularly in Maths and English
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Competence with Microsoft Office tools
