UI Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist – London - £90,000 – Hybrid Working

As a UI Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist you’ll be part of a development group that is currently made up of around 40 React and C# developers, organised into feature teams, with each feature team containing a mix of front and back-end skills. We are looking to grow the group to keep up with our growing business.
The stack is comprised of React/Redux/TypeScript frontend, C# .Net Core services which call into a proprietary C++ quant library. Hosted on Linux in AWS with large calculations distributed over many instances, messaging via Redis.
Source control, CI, CD and issue tracking are all done in GitLab. Daily deployments to production using Terraform and CloudFormation to provision AWS Elastic Container Service clusters, Elastic Beanstalk environments and API Gateways.
Features and prioritisation come from our Product Owner, coordination of our Kanban workflow from our Programme Manager. We work hand in hand with Coremont’s world class quant analysis group who continue to enhance the C++ quant library.
Key Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a UIWeb QA Specialist
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced knowledge of exploratory testing techniques and writing testing documentation
  • Great communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team – bouncing ideas off colleagues and building consensus


Desirable:

  • Experience with ag-Grid and single-page web applications and exposure to finance


Typical working hours are 9 to 6 but we can be flexible to accommodate personal requirements and preferences.

    A Senior Tester is required for a major London investment business - You'll bring your expertise to a team who are at the centre of implementing technology change; improving and enhancing capabilities to better serve our clients.     The Role:

    • Lead and shape the way Vanguard carry out testing with 3rd party partners
    • Collaborate with internal Vanguard IT teams who rely on integration with 3rd party systems, to ensure a consistent (documented) approach across all projects
    • Carry out testing of 3rd party releases, and support others to do the same – including User Acceptance Testing
    • Retain oversight of 3rd party testing and collaborate with them to increase accountability and make efficiencies
    • Support product owners and their teams with a broad and deep business knowledge to improve quality from the earliest
    • Develop and document quality assurance standards, including test strategies and plans. Recognise and identify areas where policies and procedures need to be changed or developed
    • Continually drive improvement and provide supporting metrics to stakeholders to demonstrate progress


    Requirements:

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a test role
    • Financial services experience – in particular, wrap products (pension (SIPP), ISA and general account) desirable
    • Test lead experience preferred – but with the ability to remain hands on
    • Experience of both waterfall and agile delivery would be an advantage, as this role has exposure to both
    • 3rd party supplier experience, ideally with heavy integration
    • Ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical partners

    My banking client is looking to secure a new operational risk partner to join their Operational risk department. The banks operational risk department is accountable for supporting the management of Operational and conduct risk within the bank. Providing guidance, support and assurance to senior management.

    The role itself involves:

    • The role itself is to ensure that the company has a comprehensive and accurate view of its risks.
    • Providing guidance, support and assurance to senior management.
    • The operational risk partner works within a growing and experienced risk management team who is accountable for ensuring a high quality analysis, advice and guidance on the management of operational and conduct risk.
    • To provide operations with quality support in their management of all operational and conduct related risks through implementation and embedding of the different risk management processes and initiatives

    The ideal candidate should have these key skills:

    European retail banking firm seeks a Java Developer for a permanent position paying up to £105,000 within the firms highly agile Java development team based in London.

    The team is responsible for the development of the Core Banking Digital Platforms including Risk, Payments, Lending and Customer Data. They are in the process of expansion and require an additional Java Developer providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle with an emphasis using the latest Java technology stacks.
