I am working with a major healthcare client who currently have an exciting opportunity for an IT Manager to take on a leading role within their technical team. The IT Manager role is a pivotal position in both the operations and leadership of the team, as you will have a combination of hands on and strategic responsibilities, to ensure that the telephony and voice, and data networks are functioning at maximum availability.


  • Educated to at least Bachelor's degree level, with Master's degree highly preferred
  • At least 10 years experience in infrastructure roles with a solid knowledge of voice and telephony networks
  • Strong skills with core network infrastructure concepts such as LAN/WAN, firewalls, and routing and switching
  • Solid understanding of CLI, CTI, voice recording, VoIP and call management systems
  • Previous hands on experience with Avaya Telephony, CISCO UCM (CUCM), or similar systems in a call centre environment
  • Certifications in ITIL and PRINCE2


  • Management of a large, enterprise scale data network and all telephony systems, and ensuring that all systems are fully operational
  • Act as the Assistant Head of Department during any absence of the Director
  • Acting as subject matter expert and providing technical expertise for all network, infrastructure and voice communications related issues
  • Take ownership of developing the voice recording and mobile data infrastructure to optimize network performance and promote best practice in technical strategy
  • Analysing network performance by looking at operational management reports for the voice and telephony networks
  • Assess the suitability of existing infrastructure solutions and be responsible for the proposal of new developments and implement these into the network infrastructure
  • Management of budget allocation and reporting on the financial decisions in the network and infrastructure space
  • Ensuring that core data centres and LAN/WAN infrastructure are routinely serviced to support 24x7x365 operations
  • Develop the strategic road map to account for future capacity needs in the data network and WAN
  • Oversee any technological change and transformation in core operating systems
