Network Design Engineer- SAN, VMWare, HyperV, Data Architecture, TOGAF, PRINCE2, ITIL- Permanent- Cambridgeshire

I am currently working with niche space, challenger bank who are looking for a Network Design Engineer to join their team and work in the CIO division to aid the development of new enterprise architecture and infrastructure solutions, as the business enters a period of technological transformation. You will be a strong team player and comfortable working in a knowledge sharing, collaborative environment.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Certification/extensive experience with a Microsoft Windows 2008 and/or 2012 environment
  • Certification/extensive experience with VMWare and/or HyperV to create sophisticated storage solutions
  • TOGAF Certification
  • ITIL or PRINCE2 Practitioner
  • Experience in end to end solution design and specialist solutions designs
  • Knowledge of data architectures and other technical frameworks relevant to apply when reengineering enterprise structures and processes, acting as a subject matter expert
  • The ability to manage the full life cycle experience of new enterprise architecture, and network and infrastructure solutions
  • Strong abilities to produce technical documentation including network audits, system performance reports, scheduled review programs and proposed updates

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design new SAN and Virtualisation solutions which can be fully integrated into the technical landscape with minimal overhaul and reengineering activity required in other areas of the network
  • Contribute to the achievement of the wider transformation goals as detailed by the CIO division, by championing best practices with new technologies
  • Lead the technical road map for IT services, particularly in relation to storage and network architecture
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create visionary enterprise architecture solutions which can be proposed for future strategy
  • Perform quality assurance activities to ensure that the solutions comply with internal security standard and external legislation such as FCA and PRA guidelines
  • Take responsibility for the production of status reports and schedule coordination for all upcoming and in-flight projects
