Test Manager (ALM) - FTSE 250 - Sheffield - Contract/ Perm




I am currently looking for an experienced Test Manager to join a FTSE 250 client based in Sheffield. The role will be a permanent/ contract role and will be working on a brand-new project within the business.


  • Manage a testing team within a new project
  • Test new applications and changes for several key applications
  • Driving automation processes as well as manual
  • Test management/ planning/ strategy
  • Accountable for all functional and non-functional test phases within the team
  • Accountable for monitoring/reporting progress of risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies of testing
  • Work closely with product/ project managers, service owners, development teams and IT delivery management teams
  • Production of test documentation
  • Prepare/review test estimates
  • Proposal content for change requests

Essential skills/ experience

  • Experienced Test Manager
  • Strong experience working within a large-scale environment
  • Strong experience managing large teams (automation and manual)
  • Strong understanding of the SDLC
  • Strong experience working with ALM
  • Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • ISEB certified

Salary/ Rate - £65,000 - £75,000 OR £350 - £450

  • Front End Engineer - React Native - London
    £80000 - £130000 per annum

    A leading financial services organisation is looking for Front End Engineers to join their team as they undertake ambitious growth plans in 2020 by developing their digital banking platform. Paying up to £130k you will be based out of their state of the art London offices.

    They require multiple engineers, with strong experience of; JavaScript, large-scale systems and a strong interest in the latest technical advancements within their field, focused on front end mobile apps or web development with experience in React or React Native.

    The environment is typical of a fintech, with great levels of creativity and autonomy required, in order to best utilise this digital banking platform. Given the volume of their requirements for strong react native engineers, they are relatively open on salaries and offer a very competitive benefits package.

    They are looking to bring onboard software engineers from a diverse range of backgrounds; Investment Banks, Hedge Funds, Fintech and outside of the industry. For more senior candidates you can also expect to have input on architecture and design of the platform going forward.


    • React Native
    • Javascript, HTML5, ES6 and other UI tools
    • React, TypeScript, Jest, Enzyme.
    • Continuous integration/deployment tools, including Jenkins.
    • Terraform in conjunction with cloud services providers such as Amazon Web Services
    • Build pipelines for mobile applications, included automated testing and mobile device farms (iOS and Android)
    • Strong academic profile (Comp Sci or Mathematics preferred)

  • Automation Test Engineer (JavaScript) - Trading - London
    £90000 - £120000 per annum

    I am currently on the lookout for an Automation Test Engineer (JavaScript/ Trading) to join a top brokerage firm based in London. The role will be a permanent role and will be working on a new project within the business.

    Key responsibilities

    • Analyse and translate business requirements and user stories into test cases, testing suites and automation testing scripts
    • Create and maintain detailed, comprehensive and well-structured testing framework and design automation test suites
    • Develop an automation roadmap and help initiate the right framework and maintain the existing automation suite
    • Integrate automation test suites with CI pipelines
    • Work with the product management & development teams to understand requirement to build test scripts/automation framework
    • Debug and diagnose failed scripts to determine if software defects have been introduced and write detailed defect reports when appropriate.
    • Participate in user story analysis and identify requirement and acceptance criteria gaps.

    Key skills/ experience

    • Should have relevant QA automation working experience in implementing testing frameworks around Selenium Webdriver, JavaScript, NodeJs, Webdriverio
    • Financial services/ industry experience/ knowledge is essential
    • Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle is beneficial
    • Experience with Cucumber and BDD testing frameworks
    • Able to test back end API's and front-end UI applications
    • Good to have experience on load and performance testing
    • Demonstrated knowledge of CI/CD tools to integrate the Automation scripts
    • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
    • Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment methodologies and AWS Cloud based solutions

    Salary - £90,000 - £110,000

  • HR Business Manager/ Junior HR Business Partner
    £60000 - £65000 per annum

    I am seeking an HR Business Manager/Junior HR Business Partner to support the Global Head of HR for the Sales and Commercial division for a global fintech organisation undergoing extensive change and growth in the current market. This role will support the Head of HR on all critical business needs pulling together information and interfacing with the HR Business Partners with critical responsibility on the following:

    • Take ownership of HR budgets for the division and monitor, track and influence the budget and track savings aligned to a business case.
    • Responsible for forecasting and reporting
    • Ownership of headcounts and associated business cases, tracking, monitoring and all associated governance with HR projects and business requirements
    • Executive Reporting – ability to analyse and report on all key issues including statistics, headcounts, budgets, internal and external benchmarking etc
    • Strong stakeholder management skills: able to adapt and work with senior manages across the structure and relevant business stakeholders
    • Produce PowerPoint presentations for Executive population on behalf of the Head of HR
    • Support on HR project activity around M&A as required

    Critical experience

    • Strong HR background in a business management type role
    • Exceptional communication skills, for stakeholder management & written presentations (PowerPoint/excel)
    • Excellent data management and reporting skills.
    • Judgement, problem solving and decision making. A self-starter with experience of driving projects to an outcome
    • Strong conceptual thinking, able to work with complex information and see the patterns and root cause to problems. Thoughtful in approach and happy to challenge and ask questions to gain clarity and better outcome
    • Comfortable working in a fluid and highly collaborative way, happy to roll up sleeves and get stuck into new projects
    • Able to bring out the best in people when working under pressure.
