VP Legal Counsel – Futures, Clearing and Collateral

Our client, a leading global bank, is seeking a VP Legal Counsel to join their Futures, Clearing and Collateral area within their Global Markets Legal team. The institution is a highly established organisation and this role is based in London.

The role will be responsible for providing advice and legal support for the EMEA Futures and OTC Client Clearing area of business and provide analysis of the infrastructure and regulation surrounding cleared derivatives. The roles main focus will be looking at clearing infrastructures and regulatory issues, however you will be working as part of a broader derivatives clearing team. It is a permanent position and they are able to offer up to £110,000 per annum plus benefits and bonus.

Accountability

  • You will be required to act as legal advisor to the FCC business area and other operational teams relating to CCP and other market infrastructure issues, including the areas approach to excess client collateral (bankruptcy remoteness of collateral)
  • Give advice on mandatory clearing rules relating to ‘house’ clearing issues (EMIR, Dodd-Frank and local law equivalents). You will also need to provide support with EMIR trade reporting.
  • Reviewing exchange and CCP membership rules and providing support for other teams surrounding this task
  • Advise on regulatory change and any projects relating to the implementation of new regulation or guidelines involving derivatives clearing under MiFID2/MiFIR and EMIR (e.g. indirect clearing arrangements, STP Rules, Microstructure, delegated reporting)

Minimum Experience and Knowledge

  • Qualified lawyer
  • Experience and specialism working in Financial Services, particularly within derivatives and regulation in Banking.
  • Strong derivatives knowledge
  • Good knowledge of Clearing is desired
  • Trained and have practiced within non-contentious regulation of a magic circle law firm or similar.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deal with demanding client base and working proactively and independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills for meeting tight deadlines and assimilating complex legal and regulatory material

  • eFX Test Analyst- FX Pricing- Banking- Contract- London- £600pd
    £500 - £600 per day

    I am currently looking for an eFX Test Analyst (FX Pricing) to join a top investment bank based in London. The role will be a contract role and will be working on a new project within the business.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Design and execute high-quality test cases based on accurate business requirements analysis.

    Maintain a testing structure to facilitate future additions / amendments and ongoing execution.

    Troubleshoot QA environments, diagnosing and resolving issues prior to formal testing.

    Perform root cause analysis of issues to assist in determining the source of problems.

    Have extensive experience in using test automation frameworks and tools to automate AngularJS, React front-end applications using Web Sockets.

    Should be able to maintain and enhance existing java cucumber framework and contribute to the automation test scripts as needed.

    Skills and Experience:

    Experienced eFX Test Analyst

    Possess an understanding of FX Pricing and trading (very important)

    Have extensive experience in using test automation frameworks and tools to automate AngularJS front-ends and WebSockets back-ends.

    Have experience working within the investment or wholesale banking industries.

    Demonstrate a strong general knowledge of banking business systems and a deep understanding of FX flows from front to back office systems.

    Understand how to interact with KDB in order to extract data.

    Possess proven UNIX skills
