As we went into 2016 the outlook for the year was one of cautious optimism. The economy seemed to be stabilising, business confidence was on the up and the hiring freezes that had impacted the end of 2015 seemed to be thawing. Skills shortages continued to be an issue, although candidates were becoming more open to new opportunities with 54% of those surveyed stating they would be open to a move in 2016.
A shortage of quality candidates continued to be a key concern for businesses, yet there is a disparity between what companies see as key motivators for attracting top talent and what candidates say are the factors most likely to influence them when choosing a new role.
So what can we expect for 2017?
