AI Suport Deployment Engineer Investment Bank

My client, a leading global investment bank, is seeking a technically strong AI Support Analyst / AI Forward Deployment Engineer with deep Python expertise to design, build and deploy production-grade AI solutions.

This is a hands-on engineering role embedded within the London business. You will work directly with front-office and operations teams to prototype, productionise and optimise AI/ML solutions, with a strong focus on Python-based development, LLM integration and system automation.

The role requires four days per week onsite to enable close collaboration, rapid iteration and real-time problem solving.

Core Technical Responsibilities

Python Engineering & AI Development

• Design and build AI/ML solutions using Python as the primary language

• Develop modular, maintainable and production-ready code

• Build data pipelines for structured and unstructured datasets

• Integrate LLM APIs and open-source models into internal workflows

• Implement prompt engineering frameworks and evaluation tooling

• Optimise model performance through experimentation and benchmarking

LLM & Model Evaluation

• Develop evaluation pipelines for LLM outputs (accuracy, hallucination detection, relevance scoring)

• Build automated testing and validation frameworks

• Implement logging, monitoring and feedback loops for continuous improvement

• Apply prompt tuning, retrieval augmentation (RAG), and model optimisation techniques

Systems & Infrastructure

• Deploy AI applications into Linux-based production environments

• Write automation scripts (Python/Shell) for deployment, monitoring and reporting

• Work with SQL databases for data extraction and transformation

• Ensure solutions meet internal governance, compliance and security standards

Business-Embedded Delivery

• Translate business workflows into technical AI solutions

• Rapidly prototype and iterate with users

• Deliver "micro-wins" that demonstrate measurable impact

• Provide technical documentation and user training

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (essential)

• 5+ years' experience in AI/ML engineering or advanced Python development

• Strong Python expertise including:

  • Object-oriented programming

  • API integration

  • Data processing libraries (e.g. pandas, NumPy)

  • ML frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow or similar)

• Experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications

• Strong understanding of:

  • Prompt engineering

  • Model evaluation methodologies

  • Performance optimisation

• Proficiency in SQL and Linux environments

• Experience with version control, CI/CD concepts and production deployment practices

• Strong debugging and troubleshooting capability

Desirable Experience

• Experience within financial services or capital markets

• Knowledge of futures trading systems and exchange connectivity

• Exposure to platforms such as ION, FIS or TT

• Understanding of FCA and EMIR regulatory requirements

• Experience building internal AI tooling or workflow automation systems
