Summary

In partnership with Ashby-Cooper Leadership, McGregor Boyall surveyed professionals across industries to understand how employees view Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in their workplaces and what role DEI plays when choosing a future employer. This report uncovers the priorities, generational differences, and demographic insights shaping DEI expectations in 2025.

The Employee Attitudes Towards DEI Report explores how today’s workforce perceives Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in their current organisations and what they expect from future employers. Based on responses from over 230 professionals across multiple industries and demographics, the study examines:

  1. Whether employees feel their current employer is doing enough on DEI.
  2. How DEI ranks against salary, flexible working, leadership, and career progression.
  3. The likelihood of candidates turning down roles due to weak DEI commitments.
  4. Differences in expectations across gender, ethnicity, disability, neurodiversity, generation, and LGBTQ+ identity.
  5. How DEI commitments can sway decisions between competing job offers.

The findings highlight both the opportunities and challenges employers face in building authentic, inclusive environments that resonate with a diverse workforce.
