This high growth marketing agency is entering an exciting new phase of growth, driven by a product-led vision that will transform their business, and need an Engineering Lead with a polyglot mindset to play a key role in making it happen.
As Engineering Lead, you'll be at the forefront of their greenfield product development efforts, leading a cross-functional distributed engineering team. With ownership of architectural decisions, you'll oversee the creation of scalable solutions that are built by your team, managing their work stack, and ensuring technical excellence across all stages of the product lifecycle.
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone that enjoys solving complex problems and is passionate about building products that positively impact the bottom line.
They're technology-agnostic by design - caring more about outcomes than tools. You'll have the freedom to choose the right technologies for the job, and the responsibility to ensure they're implemented effectively. The use of AI will play a part in the technical strategy so you will take a pragmatic approach to the adoption of AI technologies, using it to support the growth of the business without exposing it to unnecessary risk.
Your day to day
- Leading the design, development, and delivery of products aligned with their product-led strategy.
- Architect scalable, secure, and maintainable systems using the most appropriate technologies.
- Lead, manage and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the technical output of the team is aligned with vision of the business.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and commercial teams to translate business goals into technical solutions.
- Champion modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps.
- Contribute to strategic planning and roadmap development.
- Take ownership for the build and maintenance of internal systems and applications.
What we need from you
First and foremost you'll bring a depth of technical understand, evidenced through leading on successful product and application build projects in technologies such as .NET.
Specific technical skills are secondary to your architecture mindset, ensuring that the right tool is applied to the business/technical problem and that the best possible solution is built. With a variety of production systems live across Azure and AWS as well as using low code tools like n8n, those with experience across a wide surface area of technologies are of interest.
In addition to this, we also need you to demonstrate:
- Proven experience leading distributed engineering teams and delivering complex software projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with agile methodologies and product development workflows.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical execution.
- Passion for building products that solve real problems and deliver measurable value.
We're open minded about the sectors you have worked in historically, however experience in any of the following is helpful:
- Experience with greenfield product development in a startup or scale-up environment.
- Familiarity with martech, or data-driven platforms.
- Exposure to cloud-native architectures and infrastructure-as-code.
