Head of Product (Digital Media & Platforms) | UK, Hybrid| £650 p/d | 5-month contract

On of our public sector clients is seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Product to lead the strategic development of a high-profile digital platform. This is a rare opportunity to drive global product innovation in a fast-paced, editorially driven environment.

You will define and deliver an ambitious product roadmap aligned with key business and editorial goals. Collaborating across editorial, commercial, and technical teams, you'll ensure successful product delivery, scalability, and user satisfaction. As the senior product leader, you'll oversee a significant annual budget (£5-10M).

Head of Product Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and communicate the long-term product strategy and roadmap
  • Lead product planning, design, development, and delivery in an agile environment
  • Prioritise initiatives and manage stakeholder expectations across divisions
  • Represent the product at industry events, driving innovation and influencing best practice
  • Mentor and lead a high-performing team, supporting personal and professional development

About You:

  • Extensive experience working as a senior product leader in large scale, complex organisations
  • Experience with end to end product lifecylce
  • Experience building internal platforms and shared services-not just end-user features
  • Proven experience owning and scaling event-driven data platforms
  • Strong technical fluency and ability to work collaboratively with engineering/architecture on platform architecture and data infrastructure (AWS, SQL)
  • can balance technical depth with product strategy and long-term platform vision.

This is a pivotal leadership role for someone passionate about building world-class digital experiences for global audiences.

This is initially a 5-month contract paying a day rate of circa £650 (inside ir35). This role can be based at any of our clients offices across the UK (London, Salford, Cardiff) you are required onsite 2 days per week.
