A leading London financial institution undergoing HR transformation, is hiring a Payroll Manager to lead its UK in‑house payroll. The role is key to delivering payroll excellence during a new HR system implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full UK monthly payroll with HMRC/statutory compliance.
  • Act as senior escalation point for complex payroll and tax matters.
  • Manage year‑end filings (P11D, PSA, Form 42).
  • Oversee expatriate payroll and liaise with external tax advisers.
  • Produce payroll reporting, journals and reconciliations.
  • Maintain strong controls and audit readiness.
  • Lead and develop the payroll team.
  • Drive process improvements and support Workday HR system implementation.
  • Represent payroll in cross‑functional forums and manage payroll risk escalation.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven leadership of in‑house UK payroll in complex/regulated environments.
  • Strong team leadership and people development skills.
  • Expertise in UK employment tax and expatriate payroll.
  • Deep knowledge of payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
  • Workday Payroll experience (implementation exposure preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and stakeholder influence.
  • Highly organised and effective under pressure.

Working Model

  • Hybrid: 3 days per week in the London office.
