Senior Buyer

Job Title: Senior Buyer - Retail Environment (Procurement - Senior Specialist)
Contract: 6-months (possible extensions)

Location: Gaydon (hybrid/ 2 days per week onsite)

Day rate: circa £270 inside ir35

One of our clients is seeking an experiences procurement senior buyer to join their team. This is an opportunity to join a Global Commercial Services team within Indirect Procurement as a Senior Buyer role with category responsibility for the look and feel of the retail environment.

You will work closely with Retail Operations to shape how customers interact with products in retailer locations as well as support a major global transformation programme delivering a modern luxury retail experience. You will be involved in sourcing elements such as signage, furniture, lighting, and joinery aligned to a new retail corporate identity

Key responsibilities

• Lead all global and relevant local sourcing activities for the retail environment category
• Manage end-to-end procurement including project delivery, cost benchmarking, and contract management
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships across a global supply base
• Drive strategic category development with a strong focus on sustainability
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure delivery against business objectives
• Ensure commercial value, quality, and consistency across the global retailer network

Essential skills and experience

• Buyer with 3+ years' experience purchasing goods
• Strong commercial awareness with proven negotiation capability
• Experience working with global stakeholders and excellent communication skills
• Solid understanding of category management principles
• Strong internal and external relationship management skills
• Flexible, agile, and comfortable adapting to changing priorities

Desirable

• Previous experience in retail procurement
• Project management capability

• Degree and/or CIPS preferred but not essential
