Staff/Principal - Data Platform Engineer - NY

Looking for a highly skilled data platform engineer to join a leading financial technology firm that's building out their next-generation self-service data platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement a self-service data platform from ingestion to consumption.

• Drive integration with tools like Unity Catalog, Azure Purview, and Databricks.

• Champion best practices in data governance, observability, and infrastructure-as-code.

• Collaborate across engineering, architecture, and business to deliver solutions that scale.

Skills & Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, platform development, or backend systems.

• Expertise in Java, Python, or Scala (proficiency in at least one is essential).

• Strong hands-on experience with cloud-native platforms (Azure preferred, GCP a plus).

• Deep knowledge of AKS/Docker, streaming systems, and modern API development.

• Familiarity with tools like Dremio, Confluent Kafka, or similar is a bonus.

Highly desirable:

• You're passionate about building platforms that empower teams through automation, documentation, and self-service tooling.
