Location - Remote, with occasional trip to Edinburgh required
Duration - 12 months
Day rate - £450 outside ir35
We are seeking an experienced Test Analyst with strong commercial experience in testing modern web applications to support a high-profile product domain within a national public sector organisation. You will join a collaborative, multi-disciplinary agile team delivering resilient, high-quality digital services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support development and testing of digital registers to ensure accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.2 or equivalent)
- Improve operational efficiency for administrative users
- Enhance user experience and interface design quality
- Optimise interactions with online services
- Ensure compliance with data protection legislation
- Maintain and enhance automated regression test suites
- Contribute to system support, sustainability, and reduction of technical debt
- Participate actively in agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with communities of practice to share testing knowledge and standards
- Ensure software meets functional and non-functional requirements (security, performance, accessibility, maintainability, deployability)
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven commercial experience in web and single-page application testing
- User story shaping, acceptance criteria definition, and test scenario design
- Structured exploratory testing
- Functional and non-functional testing
- Agile delivery experience
- Strong SQL and relational database knowledge
- Experience identifying complex and boundary test cases
- Accessibility audit and testing (WCAG 2.2)
Desirable:
- Cypress and/or Selenium automation within CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of Digital First or GDS standards
- Understanding of housing registration frameworks
