McGregor Boyall are currently recruiting a contract Project Manager for our financial services client based in Edinburgh.

This is initially a 6 month contract and is inside IR35.

You will be accountable for tracking and communicating progress of Digital Development deliveries; providing timely and accurate reporting of delivery resources, activities, and risk, informing decision-making to meet departmental commitments.

As a key member of the Digital Development team, you will work closely with various stakeholders including delivery squads, architects and and managers of dependent projects.

Must have experince in delivering projects in the web, apps and digital delivery space.

Key Responsibilities will include (not limited to):

  • Engaging with delivery squad Scrum Masters to track team backlog items and map these to product and technical roadmaps..
  • Acting as a central liaison for deliveries to dependent projects, providing summarised milestone updates and managing change requests.
  • Tracking resource requirements, allocation, and utilisation as part of wider departmental budget management activities.
  • Identifying moments for organisational learning and ensure that improvements are identified, communicated, and implemented effectively.
  • Following project governance standards and recommending appropriate changes to controls in support of successful delivery.

In terms of skills and experience, we would love you to have some of the following:

  • Experience with a range of software delivery paradigms including (Agile methodologies and ceremony, DevOps patterns and practises, principles of product delivery queues and flow)
  • Working knowledge of web-based work management platforms (ideally Azure DevOps)
  • Confident and competent user of Microsoft productivity tooling (Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Familiar with software delivery concepts (Cloud architectures and environments, front-end and back-end services, quality assurance in a continuous integration and deployment context)
  • Good experience in managing the delivery of complex software solutions (ideally within a financial services environment)
  • Proven ability to establish strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong and effcetive communicator able to effectively liaise with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills

This role offers hybrid working with visits to the Edinburgh office a couple of times a month.

Applicants are required to be authorised to work in the UK and be available to travel to the Edinburgh office when required.
