Director / Senior Director - Technical Delivery Management
Location: Dublin, Ireland
The Role
A leading global technology and digital transformation organisation is looking for a Director / Senior Director of Technical Delivery Management to join its Ireland team.
This is a senior, hands-on technology delivery leadership position, working closely with teams across delivery, account management, product, architecture, technology consulting and engineering.
The organisation works with major clients, particularly across Financial Services, delivering complex technology transformation programmes and large-scale digital solutions.
The successful candidate will take ownership of major technology engagements, act as a trusted senior advisor to clients, and play an important role across delivery, strategy and pre-sales.
The role operates in a flexible hybrid environment, combining home working, office collaboration and client-site engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall accountability for the successful execution of large-scale technology programmes, from end-to-end delivery through to client satisfaction and business outcomes.
- Establish clear expectations with clients and internal teams, ensuring strong communication, transparency and delivery standards.
- Work closely with engineering, architecture, design, development and technology teams to bridge business and technical requirements.
- Provide hands-on leadership when required, fostering collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Act as a trusted technology advisor to senior client stakeholders, providing strategic guidance and practical technical solutions.
- Coordinate multiple workstreams covering programme scoping, financial management, resourcing, implementation and delivery.
- Ensure alignment across teams to maintain quality, timelines and consistency across complex engagements.
- Lead planning activities including estimation, delivery planning and programme retrospectives.
- Identify and mitigate delivery risks, escalating issues that could impact timelines, quality or client relationships.
- Support pre-sales activity, including client proposals, solution design, delivery roadmaps and Statements of Work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven track record as a senior technology delivery leader overseeing large-scale, complex and long-term technology programmes.
- Strong background in software engineering, technology delivery or solution architecture, combined with strategic and commercial leadership.
- Significant experience delivering technology solutions within Banking / Financial Services, ideally involving digital or mobile banking platforms.
- Strong understanding of open banking APIs, payment systems and mobile wallet integrations.
- Good knowledge of relevant financial services regulations and security frameworks, such as PSD2, GDPR and PCI-DSS.
- Experience with serverless architectures supporting mobile or digital applications, with exposure to platforms such as AWS, Azure, Firebase, Supabase or similar.
- Demonstrable ability to build trusted relationships across client organisations, from engineering teams through to C-suite stakeholders.
- Ability to translate strategic business objectives into practical technical solutions and communicate effectively with both technical and senior business audiences.
- Experience managing multiple complex programmes simultaneously, including delivery across geographically distributed teams.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with a track record of developing high-performing technology teams.
