Head of Payments (Managing Director level) - leading Bank in the UAE.

A leading regional Bank in the UAE is looking to appoint a Head of Payments (MD level). This position will be onsite, based in the UAE.

Reporting into the Consumer Banking leadership this senior appointment will play the key role in driving the business strategy and growing the Payments business across 3 key verticals (Acquiring, Remittances and Digital Assets/Payments Innovation). Driving market share and accountability for growth and PnL this is a commercially focused role and be responsible for developing and executing on the overall Payments strategy and leading team of 50+ professionals and include monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess the effectiveness of payments products and services.

Our client is looking for experienced payments leaders with 15-20 years of progressive experience with an international bank/leading payments organisations and FinTechs from the payments industry, with deep expertise in the acquiring and/or remittance business. Prior experience gained in highly competitive markets and with strong product expertise and experience in scaling businesses and increasing market share. Experience across the payments innovation agenda and products (eg Digital Assets, BNPL, Cyrpto payments, Open banking) would also be preferred. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements in the payments space.
